While exhibiting at the 2024 New England Boat Show, we had the opportunity to catch up with our friend Peter Haywood, CEO of Winter Island Yacht Yard in Salem Massachusetts.
Peter handles everything from selling, maintaining, and storing all his customer's boats... and is a dealer for Ranger Tugs. He has experience installing Sensar Marine’s Boat Monitor on customers’ boats and had nothing but great things to say about the product.
Given that he’s an experienced industry professional, we asked Peter what is the greatest issue he sees with boats commonly. He shared with us that the bilge pump area is his greatest concern, ensuring all bilge pumps work properly. Peter expressed, “The biggest thing we try to do is help our customers be happy and safe.”
Naturally, we wondered how Sensar Marine helps him do exactly that. His response was, for “a good portion of our boats our customers leave them for long periods not only on slips but on moorings so it's wonderful to be able to check your boat and also have your boat tell you there’s a problem. The big thing for me is water in the bilge.”
Peter’s favorite feature of the Sensar Marine Boat Monitor is the Bilge Sentry, although coming up for a close second would be the battery monitoring. Many of Peter's customers leave their boats on moorings, therefore being able to check on their batteries is a great help to all parties involved with the boat and its maintenance.
We had the opportunity to record the full interview with Peter while on a brand new 2024 Ranger Tug 31 CB. Check out the full conversation to learn more.
